2023 ABIA GUBER: Court Prohibits PDP From Conducting Primary Election | READ DETAILS

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been barred from conducting its primary elections ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial race in Abia state.

According to ABN TV, a High Court sitting in Osisioma Ngwa gave the restraining order on Tuesday, April 4.

Justice L.T.C. Eruba of the Judicial division gave the order following a suit filed by one Mr. Moses Nwaeze.

Nwaeze had approached the court seeking for the Abia PDP to be restricted from zoning its governorship ticket, rather throw it open for interested candidates to contest.

Justice Eruba adjourned the matter till April 13, 2022 for further hearing.

Controversy have trailed the ruling PDP in the state following its decision to zone its ticket to Abia North and Central senatorial districts.
