5th anniversary : Sen Ohuabunwa applauds Ikpeazu's strides

Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has congratulated Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu on the 5th anniversary of his administration, saying that the governor has so far made some undeniable imprints towards making Abia great.

Ohuabunwa in a goodwill message, lauded Ikpeazu's various strides especially in the promotion of made -in-Abia products, security and provision of infrastructure.

He noted with delight the significant reduction in crime wave across the state, a development he attributed to the governor's security consciousness as a primary duty of any responsible government.

The former Speaker ECOWAS Parliament, also commended the efforts of the Ikpeazu-led administration in giving the infrastructural sector a face lift particularly in Aba the commercial and economic soul of the state where a number of important roads have been rebuilt.

Ohuabunwa further lauded Ikpeazu's strides in the agricultural sector where he said the state has recorded significant improvements especially the planting of 7 million high breed Pamela palm seedlings.

He said the governor's new innovations in the agric sector had the prospects of re-launching Abia as one of the leading states in the agricultural sector in line with the legendary visions of the late Michael Okpara.

Senator Ohuabunwa who also expressed delight in the efforts of Ikpeazu's administration in sustaining and promoting the enviable status of the state in the education sector where it has maintained the first position in the West Africa Examination Council exams for over four years now.

Similarly, Ohuabunwa commended Ikpeazu for his consistent and unprecedented efforts in promoting made -in-Abia products which he said had now gained global recognition.

"I must salute the courage of the governor in making made -in-Abia products a brand and symbol of national pride ", Ohuabunwa noted.

He, however, called on the governor to use the balance of his second tenure to identify and address other key challenges of the state to further endear himself to the people.

According to him, the delivery of projects that tally with the yearnings and aspirations of the people will make any administration indelible in the minds of the electorate.

Ohuabunwa advised the governor not to be carried away by the euphoria of his achievements so far but to strive to post more legacy achievements for posterity.

He appealed to the governor to extend his infrastructural development drive to more communities as such would help in improving the living standard of the rural dwellers as well as lessen the cost of evacuating agricultural produce to cities.

Ohuabunwa also solicited the support of all Abians especially members of the opposition to enable Gov. Ikpeazu deliver more achievements in the remaining years of his administration.
