ABIA 2023: Hold Gov. Ikpeazu, PDP Responsible Should There Be Breakdown Of Law, Order In Abia - Otti's DG 'Acho Obioma' | WATCH VIDEO

The Labour Party governorship candidate, Dr. Alex Otti's Campaign Council has applauded the Department for State Service (DSS), for swiftly arresting one Mr. Tony Otuonye, the General Manager of the Abia State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ABSAA) following his threat on Abia electorates.

Recall that Otuonye in a viral video, threatened to kill and sacrifice any Abian who will not work for his preferred candidate, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Okey Ahiwe to win the forthcoming March 18, 2023 election in the state.

On the heels of the threat, operatives of the DSS in Abia state, arrested Otuonye who is currently still in their custody.

Reacting to the arrest of the ABSAA GM, Otti's campaign Council in a press conference chaired by it's Director General, Honourable Iheanacho Obioma (Chomen), on Tuesday at Dr. Alex Otti's campaign office in Umuahia, noted that the former's arrest was timely and would " help avert destabilization of the state and destruction of lives and properties".

The campaign council alleged that Otuonye have been using his office to intimidate opposition parties and forcing them to pay money to him or risk being denied approval for installation of campaign billboards.

"We are aware that Mr. Otuonye has Not only been unleashing violence against innocent citizens through the illegal removal or destruction of campaign billboards belonging to opposition parties, but has been indulging in fraudulent activities as the GM of ABSAA by forcing people to either pay money to him in cash or he would frustrate their approval for installation of billboards" the statement read in part.

They called on security agencies to go after, and arrest all the accomplices of Otuonye and ensure that the election is void of violence and any form of intimidation.

The Campaign council also urged the security agencies and Abians to hold governor Okezie Ikpeazu and Abia PDP responsible "should there be breakdown of law and order in the state, before, during and after the governorship election".

"Security agents should also deploy personnel to different LGAs where the PDP is allegedly plotting to deploy imported criminal elements on the eve of the election for the purpose of causing anarchy, which they hope would enable them escape the humiliation being prepared for them by the Abia electorate at the polls" the statement added.

ARREST OF IKPEAZU'S APPOINTEE AND SELF ACCLAIAMED KILLER, ANTHONY OTUONYE: LABOUR PARTY, ALEX OTTI CAMPAIGN COUNCIL LAUD SECURITY AGENCIES.

The Labour Party in Abia state and the Alex Otti Campaign Council wish to jointly commend security agencies, especially, Department of State Security Service (DSS) over the manhunt and swift arrest of one Anthony Otuonye, a self acclaimed Killer who did a video a few days ago threatening to unleash violence and kill Abians who might want to come out to cast their votes against the unpopular PDP governorship candidate in the Abia governorship election.

Labour Party and the Alex Otti Campaign Council note that the arrest and detention of Mr. Otuonye and some of his allies was timely as it would help avert destabilisation of the state and destruction of lives and property which the self-acclaimed Killer had concluded plans to execute on behalf of Abia State government and the PDP whom he serves and represents.

The Otti Campaign Council and Labour Party strongly believe that if Otuonye who serves as the General Manager of Abia State Signage and Advertisement Agency was not enjoying the support and protection of the Okezie Ikpeazu led government and the unpopular PDP governorship candidate, Okey Ahiwe, he would not have had the audacity to appear in public glare in day time to issue such cruel and vicious threat against innocent citizens

We are aware that Mr. Otuonye has not only been unleashing violence against innocent citizens through the illegal removal or destruction of campaign billboards belonging to opposition parties, but has been indulging in fraudulent activities as the GM of ABSAA by forcing people to either pay money to him in cash or he would frustrate their approval for installation of billboards.

We wish to urge Security agencies to ensure that Mr. Otuonye's accomplices and other agents of violence and destruction working for the PDP, and who are either at large or preparing violent attacks in different parts of the atate, are declared wanted, tracked down and brought to book so as to serve as a deterent to other criminal elements working for the PDP, for the purpose of setting the state on fire over their electoral woes.

Finally, we wish to call on Security agencies to beam their searchlights on the Okezie Ikpeazu led government and hold governor Okezie Ikpeazu, the PDP and other state government political actors responsible should there be breakdown of law and order in Abia state, before, during and after the governorship election.
