Abia: ABSIEC Cancels Umunneochi LGA Election, Gives Reasons

Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) has canceled Umunneochi LGA election slated for the 18th December 2020.
In a press release signed by ABSIEC Chairman Prof Mkpa Agu Mkpa and made available to AFNEWS, violence was stated as the reason for the cancellation.
The agencies revealed that the election will now hold on Saturday, 19th December, 2020, at 8am

Following disruption of smooth distribution of electoral materials to polling units by people suspected to be thugs, the Local Government elections in all the Wards in Umunneochi Local Government Area has been called off. The elections will now hold on Saturday, 19th December, 2020, at 8am.
