Abia APC Elders, Leaders Finally Speaks On Ononogbu's Recognition As Party Chairman

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia state under the umbrella of Abia APC Elders and Leaders has condemned the action of the party National Caretaker Committee headed by Mallam Mai Buni as Chairman and Sen. John Udoudehe as secretary for recognising and issuing a certificate of return to Chief Kingsley Ononogbu as the APC chairman in Abia State. The Abia APC leaders stated this in a communiqu├® issued after meeting which held in Abuja on Saturday 5th February, 2022.
They group said they reject in its entirety the attempt by the Caretaker Committee Secretary Sen. John Udoudehe and his likes to gift the party to their suspended friend in the state, noting that the party is not a one man's business that can be used as a gift. They further stated that the authentic outgoing State Chairman of APC, Abia State, Hon Chief Donatus Nwankpa transferred and handed over the reigns of leadership of the party in the state to the duly elected State Chairman, Hon Iheanacho Obioma (Chomen). They adduced that other handover formalities would be performed at the State Secretariat soon.

The Leaders resolved to return the party to the real owners at the grassroots. As they agreed that the authentic Abia State APC would convene a mega meeting of the party in Abia State as soon as possible. The group also agreed to henceforth close ranks, put their differences, if any aside, for the interest and progress of the party in the state.
They pledged to contribute financially to enable the party carry on with it's activities and programmes unhindered. They encouraged all party men and women to contribute their own quota towards the growth of the party, reminding all that one good turn deserves another.

The Abia APC leaders also assured the party faithfuls in the state that the authentic APC in Abia State shall form the delegates to the forthcoming National Convention on the 26th of February, 2022 in Abuja, assuring that Abia APC will speak with one voice.
The group further agreed at the meeting that an open letter shall as a matter of urgency be written to the National leader of the party and President, President Muhammadu Buhari, whose name they adduced is allegedly dropped as the backer and sustainer of the what they described as charade going on and destabilizing the All Progressives Congress in Abia state.
