ABIA [Charity Work]: Seadogs Umuahia Visit Ezeleke Community Primary School |SEE PHOTOS

Wednesday, 9th December 2020 was a day of joy for the pupils of Ezeleke community primary school in Umuokpara, Umuahia south local government area of Abia state, as a team of well meaning Nigerians led by Mr Chiemela Iroha stormed the school to share love with the school children.

The event which was tagged a charity campaign was aimed at showing love to the children in rural communities and it was hosted by the National Association of Seadogs Umuahia branch.

Delivering the opening remark, Mr Emeka Obioma, a member of the association and an indigene of Amachara, expressed delight to be a part of the beautiful project.

In his words "it is a privilege to be here, as i started my early education here before i moved", he however maintained the association will continue assisting the school and the pupils.

Another member of the association, Dr Stanley Okereke while speaking with the pupils encouraged them to observe all COVID-19 guidelines, he stressed that the virus is very much alive. He however advised the children and teachers to endeavour to wash their hands often, use hand sanitizer when necessary and also maintain social distancing as these are the major steps needed in beating the pandemic.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of gift items to the school and monetary support given to fourteen (14) pupils in graduating classes to take care of their school fees for a year and common entrance examinations.

Speaking to newsmen, Mr Chiemela Iroha who is the president of the National Association of Seadogs Umuahia branch, stated that the association values charity and also engages in advocacy. He revealed that after much investigation, they discovered that Ezeleke community primary school has a lot of dilapidated structures and indigent students that cannot pay fees and as such decided to start with the school.

One of the beneficiaries a pupil named Igbojionu Favour, thanked the association for their kind gesture towards the school.

The teachers and pupils were all engulfed in an atmosphere covered with joy as they prayed and bid the team that visited them goodbye.
