The Abia State chapter of the City Boy Movement has announced a strategic partnership with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, as part of efforts to expand youth empowerment and grassroots mobilisation across Abia State.

The partnership was formalised when a delegation of the movement led by the Abia State Director, Lucky Igbokwe, popularly known as Don Lulu, paid a visit to the Deputy Speaker and officially decorated him as a Partner of the Movement.

According to the movement, the recognition and partnership with the Deputy Speaker were in acknowledgment of his contributions to youth inclusion, leadership development, and national progress.

The movement noted that the partnership is aimed at strengthening youth participation in governance, leadership development, and empowerment programmes across Abia State and beyond.

The visit also provided an opportunity for discussions on youth empowerment, political participation, and development initiatives targeted at young people in Abia State.

In his remarks, the Deputy Speaker appreciated the honour and recognition given to him by the movement and reaffirmed his commitment to youth-focused governance and development.

He emphasized that empowering young Nigerians remains critical to achieving sustainable development across the country, noting that youth empowerment must remain a priority for political leaders and institutions.

He also encouraged young people to actively participate in governance, leadership, and nation-building.

The engagement also laid the groundwork for the forthcoming Abia State Youth Empowerment Programme scheduled for April 25, 2026.

According to the movement, the programme is designed to expand opportunities for young people, provide empowerment platforms, and encourage youth participation in governance and development initiatives across Abia State.
