ABIA: Why Court Declaresd TIMASS Illegal | READ DETAILS

Traffic and Indiscipline Management Agency of Abia State (TIMAAS), has been declared as an illegal Agency operating in the state.

Abia State High court of Obingwa Judicial Division , presided over by Honourable Justice E .O Enwereji made the declaration on Thursday, September 29, 2022.

The court declared TIMASS illegal on the ground that it was not created by any known law of Abia state and as such, its operations are illegal.

Justice Enwereji made this declaration while delivering judgement on the Suit No. HOB/24/2022 involving one Mr Kalu Nnamdi Collins (the plaintiff) and Mr Chinedum Ikeokwu, the General Manager of TIMASS (defendant).

Mr Collins had filed a suit against TIMASS after allegedly paying thirty thousand naira to the Agency to retrieve his vehicle which was impounded on March 12, 2022 in Obingwa.

Justice Enwereji also ordered TIMASS to refund Collins the thirty thousand naira he paid to get his impounded vehicle; to pay the plaintiff the sum of two hundred thousand naira (200,000) case cost and one million naira compensation.
