Abia CP names LGAs that are capital of crime in Abia State (READ FULL)

Worried by the increase in armed robbery activities, burglary, threats to life, a concerned citizen in Ndiolumbe has called on security agencies in Abia to swing into action and arrest perpetrators of these crimes.

One of the bigwigs in the community who pleaded anonymity said there is culpable fear, anxiety in the community following the activities of these youth.

He narrated how a young woman who was returning from Ahia Orie market on Wednesday was robbed of huge sum of money by some unidentified young men on bike, adding that last week, a philanthropist, Elder John Onwuka was shot by some unidentified gunmen while returning home.

The source recounted several operations carried out in the community by unidentified young men, informing that the increase in use of illicit drugs and bunks where these drugs are sold could be attributed to the increase in crime wave, calling on the Commissioner of Police, Abia State CP Ene Okon to act and nab the miscreants.

Meanwhile, when contacted on the issue of insecurity of life and property, the commissioner of Police, Abia State said it is regrettable that despite the level of work done in Isiala Ngwa North and South to rid it of crime, the area has continued to be a den of robbers, submitting that the two LGAs are capital of robbers.

It will be recalled that Ndiolumbe Community had been on the spotlight for wrong reasons for years.
