ABUJA - The 2025 Abia Day Celebration erupted in colour, culture, and emotion on Sunday as Abians living in the Federal Capital Territory gathered under the umbrella of the Abia Development Organization (ADO) to reaffirm their unity, identity, and commitment to the progress of their homeland.

The well-attended event transformed Abuja into a cultural arena, showcasing traditional dances, symbolic displays, and powerful reaffirmations of brotherhood among Abia's diverse communities. Representatives of community development unions, socio-cultural groups, business leaders, and young professionals converged to celebrate their shared heritage.

Representing Governor Alex Chioma Otti, Deputy Governor Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu commended ADO for sustaining the flame of unity among Abians outside the state. He noted that the government views Abians in the diaspora as "critical partnersÔÇØ in rebuilding and redefining Abia's development narrative.

He emphasized that the Otti administration will continue to promote policies that reinforce the values of excellence, industry, and resilience - traits that Abians across the world are known for.

Speaking at the event, Chief Liaison Officer, Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, praised the organizers for successfully projecting Abia's cultural identity at a national level. He stressed that the Abia Liaison Office in Abuja remains committed to protecting Abia's reputation, strengthening partnerships, and supporting Abians living and working in the Federal Capital Territory.

Chinasa further encouraged participants to remain united, noting that strong cultural identity is a major asset in today's increasingly competitive world.
