Abia State Governor Constitutes Christian and Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, Appoints Prominent Leaders

Abia State Governor's latest approval establishes the Christian and Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, appointing notable religious figures to enhance the welfare of both communities. This strategic decision aims to strengthen pilgrimage support for Christians and Muslims in the state.

In a significant move to bolster pilgrimage support for both Christian and Muslim communities, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex C. Otti, has approved the constitution of two new boards: the Abia State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and the Abia State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. This strategic decision, which takes immediate effect, is aimed at improving the welfare of pilgrims from Abia State.

For the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, the Governor appointed Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Otutubuike Agomuo as Chairman, with prominent religious figures, including Archbishop Dr. Chikezie Emmanuel Elekwa (JP), Rev. Prof. Mosy Madugba, Rev. Ojo Ojo Uduma (JP), Bishop Manasses Okere (JP), Bishop Dr. Udo U. Nmeregini, Most Rev. Dr. Uma Onwunta, Pastor Uche Nwokeohuru, Rev. Fr. Gabriel Kalu, Pastor Ugochukwu Kingsley Chimereze, and Pastor Chioma Ibezim, Ph.D serving as members. These appointments reflect a blend of experienced spiritual leaders, committed to enhancing the pilgrimage process for Abia's Christian community.

Similarly, for the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, the Governor appointed Sheikh Ali Ukiwo (Chief Imam) as Chairman. Other key members include Imam Musa Iro, Yusuf Ukaegbu, Nwakanma Abubakar Igwe, Imam Bashir Idris, Imam Usmar Tukur, Adamu Audu, Okikiade Yusuf, Said Umar, Hajia Azeezat Jimoh, and Hajia Hadiza Usman Pepe. These appointments are a demonstration of the Governor's commitment to ensuring the smooth organization of pilgrimage activities for Muslims in Abia State.
