ABIA GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES NEW HEALTH-CARE INITIATIVE

Addressing over a hundred participants and trainees drawn from various communities in the state, at the state's health ministry office, ogurube layout, Umuahia, the special assistant to the governor on Public health and coordinator of the 'Okezuo Abia House-to-House Free Vital Signs Checking', Comrade Chima Uwaezu officially handed them over to the initiators and organizers of the program, for proper briefing and training on their new assignment and duty.
The consultant of Abia State Tele-Health Initiative, Dr Omans in her speech urged the trainees to be focused as the program will soon translate to business opportunities for them in the nearest future.
In his remarks, the commissioner for health, Dr John Ahukanna thanked the Youths for making themselves available to be trained and encouraged them to be committed to the initiative because of the skills that will enable them save lives in their various communities.
Also present at the event were, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Public Health, Honourable Igbojionu; the Head, Primary health care management in the state, Dr Adindu; the Director of information Abia State Ministry of Health, Mrs Franca Ekwueme and many other dignitaries.
The occasion also witnessed the handing over of the 'stop and check kiosk' - which is meant for primary health care intervention, training kits and working tools all numbering over a hundred, to Comrade Chima Uwaezu for disbursement to the Youths who attended the training.
