ABIA GUBER ELECTION: INEC Fixes Date To Review Obingwa LGA Result
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has suspended further collation of governorship results from Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.

Political thugs had invaded INEC's office in Obingwa on Sunday during collation of results. The INEC staff were alleged to have been held hostage and forced to manipulate the results.

The suspension of Obingwa result was announced on Monday, in a statement signed by Barrister Festus Okoye, INEC's National Commissioner and Chairman, Voter Education.

Confirming the suspension during collation of results at the state office of INEC on Monday, the state collation officer, Professor Nnenna Oti said she received a direct order from the National chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu.

A letter signed by INEC Secretary, Mrs Rose Omoa Oriaran-Anthony and addressed to the administrative secretary of the Commission in Abia, Mr. Clement Ohia to that effect said, a team will be in Abia state on Tuesday, March 21, to review the election process in Obingwa.

"a team led by a National Commissioner will be in Abia state from tomorrow (Tuesday) to conduct the necessary reviewing for the process to be concluded" the letter read in part.
