ABIA GUBER WAR: APC HAS GIVEN INEC N20B TO MANIPULATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION - DON UBANI

The Publicity Secretary of PDP in Abia state, Don Ubani, in a statement issued to reporters in Umuahia, on Monday, claimed that a whopping sum of twenty billion Naira had been earmarked for the electoral umpire, to manipulate the governorship results in the coming elections.

According to Ubani, "PDP has received, from a reliable source, that the sum of twenty Billion Naira (N20b) has exchanged hand between leaders of All Progressives Congress in the State and the Independent National Electoral Commission; INEC, for the latter to write the Results of Governorship and House of Assembly Elections in Abia State on Saturday 9th March, 2019 and announced same for the former, not minding the collective will of the Abia electorate.

"This piece of information will, as usual, not constitute any threat or cause for a distraction to PDP in Abia State. Abia PDP rather urges all her members, supporters and admirers to come out this saturday, vote massively for PDP, obtain results of elections in their respective polling Units, accompany and defend their results from One Level of voting process to the other. The collective will of the people must prevailÔÇØ.

Contacted for his reaction, the publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Benedict Godson, in a telephone interview on Monday afternoon, dismissed the allegation, blasting the ruling party in the state, of dishing out unfounded and baseless allegation in order to score cheap political points.

He said, "PDP should desist from raising false alarm that is capable of causing anarchy in the polity and Abia state. Till now, they have not explained to the public, why the former Governor Theodore Orj, who is also the leader of Abia PDP caucus, invaded the INEC office in Adelabu street, Umuahia. And INEC colluded with ex-governor to manipulate the February 23 presidential and National Assembly elections held in the state.

"To us, the PDP allegation is cheap propaganda, because, they know the people of Abia state have decided and resolved to send Governor Ikpeazu packing from the government house come Saturday.

"The Abia leadership of APC remains unperturbed and undeterred over the evil machinations of the oppositions to curry favour from the people, knowing well it(PDP) has failed Abians woefullyÔÇØ. (DP)
