ABIA: Ikpeazu Attends Uko Nkole's Fathers Burial, Promises to fix Nmuri Bridge

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has promised to mobilize a contractor for the immediate reconstruction of the Nmuri bridge,Abam in Arochukwu LGA.

Governor Ikpeazu gave the assurance while Speaking at the funeral ceremony of late Chief Emmanuel Ndukwe Uko Nkole, father of the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Uko Nkole directed the federal legislator to immediately take Engineers to the bridge to determine the cost and forward same to him for kick off work on Monday.

This directive from the Governor was in response to the passionate appeal made to the Governor by the Prelate and Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Most Rev Dr Nzie Nsi Eke, to help fix the bridge.
He described the late Chief Emmanuel Nkole as a great Father, Community Leader and Patriarch who lived a worthy and exemplary life on earth.
The Governor charged the bereaved family to sustain the virtues of honesty, steadfastness and selfless service to humanity and prayed God to grant the family Grace and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Governor Ikpeazu recalled that the deceased made his marks and has gone to be with his maker.
In his remarks, the Speaker House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila represented by the Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha described death as a necessary end and expressed joy that the late Chief Emmanuel Nkole lived a fulfilled life having attained the age of 79 with legacies on the sands of time.
In their condolences, the member representing Isialangwa North and South federal Constituency, Hon Darlington Nwokocha and the National Organising Secretary of the PDP Col. Austin Akobundu who described the deceased as a great man, prayed God to grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Earlier in a sermon, entitled "Our Citizenship is in Heaven"The Moderator and Prelate of the General Assembly, Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Most Rev. Nzie Nsi Eke who said that God determines His own time table, assured the bereaved family that those look upon the Lord will not be disappointed.

While reminding the living that there is a time to die, the Moderator and Prelate urged them to draw closer to God as He cares much about His People.
In their separate tributes, the first son of the deceased, Frank Awa Ndukwe Nkole and the second son and member representing Arochukwu/ Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Uko Nkole said their late Father was a Community Leader, a disciplinarian and philanthropist who touched many lives and regretted that his demise has created a vacuum that would be difficult to fill.

The Deputy Governor Sir Ude Okochukwu, the senator representing Abia Central Chief T.A . Orji, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, The Speaker Abia House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Chinedum Orji, Hon. Solomon Adaelu of the House of Representatives, other National and State Legislators, State Chairman of the PDP, Chief Alwell Asiforo Okere, the Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Sir J N Nwabeke and other traditional rulers, Stakeholders and other distinguished Nigerians graced the ceremony which held at the Central School Field, Ozu Abam, Arochukwu LGA.
