Abia Lawmaker reveals how Abians can access ongoing NIRSAL intervention loans

The Minority Whip/member representing Arochukwu State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, has call on members of his constituency who have skills and Abians in general, to key into the ongoing financial literacy training in Arochukwu, by Homeland Consult and Training Institute Ltd (Certified EDI), to enable them access a loan for their businesses.

The Lawmaker stated this, during a Radio interview (Day Break Abia), on Pace Setter FM, Umuahia, explained that the NIRSAL Micro Finance Bank, as an arm of the Central Bank, is giving out loans to people who have skills in areas such as Poultry farming, Fishery, Fashion Designing, Piggery, Bakery business, ICT, etc, for the growth of their businesses, after successful completion of the mandatory EDI training.

He hinted that this is the first time, the CBN is dealing directly with the people through NIRSAL and urged those interested, to enrol in the programme on financial literacy, with any of the certified EDIs, to enable them manage their money when approval is granted to them for their business.

The Minority Whip, explained that the NIRSAL Micro Finance Bank, puts registration fee which is an approved standardized fee of N10,000 while business template (optional) fee is N5,000.

Continuing, he revealed that the CBN, has reduced interest rate from 9% of what it used to be, to 5%, pointing out that this is a good news for those who want to key into the programme.

Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, used the medium, to thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, for signing into law a Bill on the independence of the Legislature and Judiciary.

He further said that with what the President has done, it will make democracy to work well in Nigeria, adding that with the signing, it has made the three arms of government to be fully independence, saying that this is the hallmark of democracy.
