Abia NMA Lauds Senator T. A Orji For Giant Strides In Health Sector

The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Abia State Chapter, has lauded the giant strides of the Senator representing Abia Central Federal Constituency, Senator T.A. Orji in the health sector.

The association, in a 'Fact Finding, Collaborative, and partnership Mission' to the Primary Health Care Centers in Umuariaga Ikwuano LGA, and Ukome in Umuahia North LGA, described the senator as one who is committed to make health care facilities accessible to people in the rural areas.

The association led by Dr Chimezie Okwuonu, expressed satisfaction over the health facilities built and furnished by T.A. Orji, adding that the health centers would help save lives in the grassroot.

Speaking, after the tour, Dr Okwuonu said;

"We are pleased to see what our distinguished senator, T.A. Orji is doing. on each of the facilities, we have seen state-of-the-art millennium primary health care centre that has been delivered within record time having laid the foundations in December 2020. we have seen primary healthcare centres that have been effectively delivered within efficiency and timing, providing service areas of all functions; waiting area, reception injection room, nurses station, delivery room, stage 1, counseling room, pharmacy, consulting room, ward 1, ward 2, female ward, male ward, doctors and staff quarters, etc.

"Guaranteed power and energy supply connected to the National grid, standby generator, solar energy system, all speaking to the energy needs of these facilities 24/7.

"We are delightfully surprised that such gigantic projects like we have seen are going on in Abia central senatorial district by the resilience, superlative, and mercurial representation of no other person than the senator who has the benefit of the people at the centre of his heart all the time.

"As we arrived this facility site, I was asking myself if these were health centres, yes they are.

"I am surprised that the distinguished senator is carrying out such a gigantic project in his constituency this is very commendable. I really wish to encourage him for taking this bold step.

"The healthcare sector needs men like him, and I'm happy that he has taken it as a responsibility to build primary healthcare centres in his constituency" Okwuonu said.

He mentioned that one of the visions of the NMA, is to ensure qualitative health care delivery to the Constituencies .

He therefore pledged that the NMA will always support the senator's interests in the health sector.

The Senator, represented by his Chief Liaison Officer, Mr Ifeanyi Umere, appreciated the NMA' presence and urged them to be present at the official commissioning of the structures which will hold in few weeks time.
