One of the frontline candidates for the Abia North Senatorial seat, Chief David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex (Ugo Ena), has declared that the Senate seat is not a throne for self-glorification but a sacred trust for service to the people.
In a strongly worded political statement titled "A Seat is Not a Throne", Bourdex stressed that representation at the National Assembly is not for the loudest voice or the noisiest crowd, but for the leader who truly listens to the people's cry, carries their burdens, and walks their dusty roads.

Political observers say this message is clearly targeted at entrenched political elites in Abia North who, according to critics, see political offices as positions of personal elevation rather than service to the electorate.
