ABIA: Ohafia Monarchs Reach An Agreement With Military Over Siege On Their Communities

The Council Of Ohafia Monarchs have reached an agreement with the 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army over military siege in their communities.

The meeting was held on Tuesday, With The 14 Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. M.B Wabili, Brigade Senior Officers and the monarchs to sue for a relaxing of the siege by the Army.

Reading a Communique On behalf of Council of Ohafia Monarchs, HRM Ezieogo Elder Emmanuel Kalu Kalu Onugu, the Ezieogo of Asaga Ohafia, noted that the meeting became necessary due to the current military siege in Amangwu and some other communities.

He pointed out that as a result of the ongoing militarization, economic and social activities of the people was suffering a huge loss and impacting negatively on the people.

In his remark, HRM Ezieogo Kalu Ikenga, urged the Brigade commander to reconsider easing the continuous lock-down in some parts of Ohafia.

Responding, the commander 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. M.b Wabili appreciated the monarchs for taking a proactive step as custodians of their respective communities and people.

He promised that the military authorities will review the current lock-down as requested by the monarchs.

Wabili charged internally displaced persons from Amangwu who are law abiding citizens to return to their community.
