The judicial panel sitting in Umuahia continued it's hearing on Wednesday January 27 2021 on the case between the Chinaka Ahamefula's family and the DPO Cameroon Station Aba.
On the witness pew, the second witness in the case , Mr. Okoro Agama a commercial driver attested that it was the policemen from Cameron Station Aba who shot dead his friend Chinaka Ahamefula (deceased).

He said late Chinaka was shot dead by the police on October 21, 2020

According to Agama, late Chinaka who was living in Aba but relocated to Owerri with his family, came to Aba on 17th October, 2020 for the wake- Keep of Agama's Mother.

He said " My Friend was staying in my house when he came for the wake- Keep . On October 21, 2020 he said he was going to see one of our friends Ifeanyi Okoro.
"I told him I would meet him later after going to the mortuary in respect of my mother. After I called him, we decided to meet at Cameroon road by Judges street.
"As I was approaching , I saw my friend with 3 policemen from Cameron barracks. I was able to identify them because of the hilux van they packed at the scene.

" One of the policemen, fair in complexion shot Mr Chinaka Ahamefula first on the right leg, as he was trying to stand up, the same policeman shot him again on the right eye".
Agama said the policemen took his friend's corpse with another corpse to their barracks and zoomed out from the station after few minutes.

According to him, he went to St Anthony's Mortuary where he met one Mr Nwachukwu the mortuary attendant who confirmed that the policemen brought in two corpses .

He said he went to the police station and made a statement before the DPO.
Earlier, Obianuju Chinaka, daughter of the deceased stated that the police after confirming her father was deposited in the mortuary, collected the sum of N16,000 as mortuary bill refund.

Recall that in the previous sitting, AFNEWS reported that the sitting judge Justice SN Imo gave a ruling, mandating the police of Cameroon barrack to release the corpse of late Chinaka Ahamefula , and foot all the bills associated with his release from the Mortuary.
According to Obianuju, who went to the station in company of the mother, uncle, aunty, and the lawyer, they were refused access to the corpse. The police requested them to go to the Commissioner and also liaise with the respondent's lawyer, FC Okafor.

The court adjourned to February 2, 2021.
