Umuahia, Abia State - Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, has celebrated two prominent Abia-born elder statesmen - Chief Theodore Ahamefule Orji (CON), former Governor of Abia State, and Chief Onyema Ugochukwu (OFR), former Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) - on their birthday anniversaries, describing them as "towering symbols of leadership and service."

In a statement issued through the Abia Rejoice Movement in Umuahia, Dr. Ogah extolled the duo for their life-long commitment to public service, community development, and the overall progress of Abia State.

He noted that Chief T. A. Orji, fondly known as Ochendo Global, remains one of Abia's most respected leaders whose tenure as Governor marked an era of administrative reforms and infrastructural renewal. According to him, Orji's focus on governance, civil service restructuring, education, and healthcare "laid a strong foundation for the new Abia of today."

Dr. Ogah also described Chief Onyema Ugochukwu as an accomplished journalist, economist, and technocrat whose intellectual depth and patriotism have influenced Nigeria's national development. He recalled Ugochukwu's impact as the pioneer Chairman of the NDDC, where he championed equitable and transparent development across the Niger Delta region.

"Both men have, in their unique ways, shown what it means to serve selflessly," Ogah stated. "Their legacies reflect integrity, wisdom, and a genuine love for humanity. Abia is proud to call them her own."

While celebrating their birthdays, Dr. Ogah emphasized that their exemplary lives should serve as a moral compass for the younger generation, urging Abia youths to emulate their virtues of diligence, honesty, and patriotism.
