ABIA SOUTH: ABARIBE DEFEATS NKWONTA AGAIN, AS TRIBUNAL UPHOLDS ELECTION VICTORY

Justice Wasiu Animasaun led tribunal has upheld the victory of the Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Abia South Senatorial district, Chief Enyinnaya Abaribe, just as it strikes out the suit brought before it by Chief Chris Nkwonta of the All Progressive Grand Alliance which seeks to nullify his victory.

Justice Animasaun while arriving at his judgement, explained that the petitioner was wrong by solely insisting on the use of smart card reader for accreditation during the election, forgetting that the use of manual accreditation during election is also allowed.

The members of the panel therefore throughout the petition for lack of merit.

Reacting to the judgement, counsel to Senator Abaribe, Barrister Uche Ihemamma expressed joy in the verdict, saying that the victory is well deserved.
