Abia Speaker, Enyinnaya Orji Receives Ibeku Communities, Calls For Peace

According to the communities delegates, the visit was to appreciate the speaker for projects that he has embarked on and also to table out other pressing social needs of the community members.

Speaking, the Chairman, Umuajiji Development Union, of Umuajiji Isieke Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Area, Chief Benard Nwosu, expressed gratitude to Abia Speaker for his proposed siting of a mini stadium in their community.

"We are here to appreciate you in a special way for choosing to site a mini stadium in our immediate community and others scattered across the State. We believe when completed, the project will serve as a rendezvous for sporting activities not only to our immediate environment but to Abians in general", Nwosu said.

Further in his speech, Nwosu noted that the Umuajiji community were facing challenges which include lack of electrical power supply owing to a faulty transformer.

He pleaded with Orji to come to the rescue of the community members.

In his response, Orji noted that that he embarked on community projects because he owe the people a responsibility to affect lives positively.

He promised to hand over the mini stadium after construction while calling for peace and defense of the entity "IbekuÔÇØ which is the people's heritage.

"Let go of every grievance and shun politics of bitterness. I embarked on this visible projects in your community because I owe you people a responsibility to lift and affect lives positively and I will hand over the mini stadium to your community after construction", the speaker said.

He also promised to fix the faulty transformer and ensure that power is restored in the community in few weeks.

On his part, Comrade Silas Ihemeremadu of Nkata Afaranta Ibeku thanked the Speaker for his giant strides in the State, adding that the people of Nkata Afaranta Ibeku are proud of him.

He noted that the Speaker has done noble and deserved huge commendation.

The youth president of the community, Comrade Christian Onwukwe Ulonnam in his address promised that they would fully support the Speaker in his future political endeavors, and prayed God to continue to bless him abundantly.
