Abia Speaker Renders Help To Woman, Baby Who Accosted His Convoy
Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has directed that a woman and her baby whom he encountered today in Umuahia while on transit be taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, for medical attention.

The woman who appeared disoriented almost ran into the Speaker's convoy with her baby in her hand just opposite Access Bank on Library Avenue, Umuahia. The Speaker ordered his convoy to stop and invited the woman over for a close interaction after which he directed a former Deputy Chairman of Umuahia South Local Government Area and current zonal chairman of Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), Waste Management Committee, Umuahia South Zone, Hon Chibuzor Ejim who happened to be around the area at that time for his own personal activities, to help take the woman and her baby to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, for proper care. The Speaker also advanced some cash to Hon Ejim for that purpose.

The Speaker admonished the woman never to take such risks of attempting to jump into a moving convoy as such actions could result into fatalities. He further directed that she and her baby be brought to his residence for further assistance.

The woman who was overwhelmed with joy, thanked the Speaker for his kindheartedness and showered prayers upon him.
