The former senator representing Abia Central at the national assembly, Senator Chris Adighije has also weighed into the trending Abia State Speakership tussle as an elder statesman.
During a media interaction with Abia Facts News, the former senator made it explicit that he is an APC member, but will be speaking on the speakership issue as an elder statesmen who is interested in what happens in the state.

The former senator explained that it will be proper for the Speakership position of Abia State House of Assembly which has been zoned to Abia Central to be micro zoned to Ikwuano/Umuahia for equity sake.
"Since the governor is from Abia South and an Ngwa man, the deputy governor from Abia North, it will be proper for the Ikwuano/Umuahia to produce the speaker for the sake of balance. Isiala Ngwa north and south are our Ngwa brothers and the governor is ngwaÔÇØ
When asked if he has a favored candidate from Ikwuano/Umuahia, he had this to say;

"I don't have a favored candidate, the Ikwuano/Umuahia members elect should be able to chose amongst themselves who they believe has the capacity to do the work effectivelyÔÇØ he concluded.
