AFCON 2023: Super Eagles Breaks Jinx Against Sierra Leone

The Super Eagles has broken a vicious chain of poor results in a 2-1 win over the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in an African Cup of Nations qualifier clash at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja yesterday.

The topflight squad who ventured into the game with a disturbing five game winless streak secured three points and a win, breaking the seeming jinx.

The game which served as their first at the MKO Abiola Stadium since the devastating 1-1 draw to sports archrivals Ghana in March saw the team play without fans following FIFA's ban on the Stadium.

AFnews recalls aggrieved fans went berserk after the team fell to fellow West African team.
