AFGHANISTAN: Taliban Bans Shaving Of Beards In Barbing Salons | SEE WHY

Taliban in Afghanistan have continued to issue out new rules after their takeover as they have banned barbing salons from trimming or shaving off customers beards.

According to the Taliban, trimming/shaving of beards is against the teaching of Islam as a religion, adding that defaulters will be punished.

In a notice posted on salons in southern Helmand province, Taliban officers warned that hairdressers must follow Sharia law for haircuts and beards.

A notice seen by the BBC added that;"No one has a right to complain,"

"The fighters keep coming and ordering us to stop trimming beards," one barber in Kabul said. "One of them told me they can send undercover inspectors to catch us."

Another hairdresser, who runs one of the city's biggest salons, said he received a call from someone claiming to be a government official. They instructed him to "stop following American styles" and not to shave or trim anyone's beard.

This is coming few days after the Taliban killed four alleged kidnappers and hung their lifeless bodies in the streets of Herat province.
