Akwa Ibom: How Police Allegedly Tortured Prospective Corps Member To Death In Detention

One Kubiat Isaac, a graduate of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), and a prospective Corps member, has allegedly being tortured to death by operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.
According to a petition titled " A Cry For JusticeÔÇØ Isaac was arrested on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at about 7pm, by police officers of B Division, Ewet Housing Estate, for alleged robbery and cultism.

His friends reportedly went in search of him after learning of his arrest on Monday, August 30, but the police including B Division, denied arresting Isaac.

It was after his Aunt reportedly put a call through to some persons that it was learnt that it was officers of the Division who arrested the deceased who was supposed to go for his National Youth Service Corps Scheme, November batch.
The petition also claimed that late Isaac was tortured to death the same night he was arrested. He was said to have being deposited to Ikot Akpan Abia Mortuary after alleged torture and death.
