ABIA 2023: Alex Otti Promises To Clear Salary Arrears Of Workers Within 1-Year
Dr. Alex Otti, the Labour Party governorship candidate in Abia State, has assured that he will clear all backlogs of salaries and pensions within his first six months and one year in office if elected come 2023.

Otti gave this assurance on Sunday when he was hosted by the Anglican Communion, Ecclesiastical Province of Aba, Diocese of Isuikwuato-Umunneochi.

The governorship hopeful who also promised to maintain regular payment of salaries and pensions stated that such will encourage proper flow of money, demand and supply and by extension, production which will boost the economy of the state.

Otti lamented that the Abia state situation has become more frightening with unemployment rate rising to 51% against the national average of 31%, warning that it could get worse if the leadership problem ravaging Abia is not solved.

The governorship hopeful maintained that as long as there is no job for the youths, crimes and insecurity would continue unabated. According to Otti, the strategy of force rather than good governance and job creation by governments at all levels would not solve the problem.

He expressed gratitude to the church for their continued support since 2015, while charging them to brace up to the 2023 election and ensure their active participation by supporting Mr. Peter Obi for President, himself for governor and all Labour Party candidates across the state.

Earlier in his address the Bishop of Isuikwuato-Umunneochi Diocese, Dr. Prince Kingsley Anyim lauded Dr. Otti for his accomplishments both as an economist and now as a political figure who has displayed rare consistency and doggedness in pursuit of his governorship ambition aimed at repositioning Abia state.

Dr. Anyim who described Dr. Otti as a game changer,recalled how Dr. Otti was overwhelmingly voted by Isuikwuato people in 2015, and declared that Isuikwuato people now have more reasons to unanimously vote for him again in 2023 because of the love he has continually shown Isuikwuato people coupled with the absence of government presence in the area.

He cited the deplorable condition of the road leading to the church and regretted that due to the interior location of the church, members suffer seriously before they are able to access the church.
