The Abiriba Community in Ohafia Local Government Area is gearing up for a grand celebration on December 28th, 2024. The Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State on Trade, Commerce, and Industry, Chief Nwaka Inem "Enyioha," will be retiring traditionally in a ceremony that promises to be a significant cultural event.

The Abiriba community, known for its rich cultural heritage, operates a unique age grade system that dates back to the community's early days. Originally, the age grade system was used to protect the community, but it has since evolved into a mechanism for community development. Each age grade group operates for a set period before retiring (Ime Uche) to allow the next age grade to take over community duties.

Chief Nwaka Inem "Enyioha," a prominent member of the Okezie Age Grade, will officially retire along with his peers in a ceremony set to be one of the most memorable events in Abiriba, affectionately known as Small London. The event is scheduled for Saturday, December 28th, 2024, and is expected to attract a large gathering of well-wishers and dignitaries.
