CERTIFICATE OF RETURN: Amobi Ogah Group Describes Onyejeocha As Desperate | SEE DETAILS

Amobi Ogah Media Support Group has alleged that the outgoing honorable member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency and deputy chief whip of the house of representative Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, visited the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) demanding for certificate of return based on the contentious Kano State Federal High Court judgement that invalidated the votes of Labour Party candidates in Kano State and Abia State.

In a press release signed by one Ifeanyi Igbokwe for the group and made available to ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER, they described the above move of the defeated house of representative member as desperate and shameful.

The group said they got the information from a source in the Commission, informing it on how the APC candidate approached INEC, citing the ruling by Federal High Court in kano, but was turned back by the commission.

"Nkeiruka Onyejeocha should accept her faith of losing the election and also move on as no amount of distraction would make our Principal, Hon Amobi Ogah, to lose focus on why his people elected him.

Also recall, that the member-elect Chief Amobi Ogah few days ago wrote a petition against Panel 1 of the National Assembly and State House of Assembly Election Tribunal alleging compromise of the panel members.

In the said petition, the House of Representative member elect who defeated Rt. Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha with a very huge margin at the 2023 General Election is seeking the transfer of the election petition filed against him by Nkeiruka Onyejeocha out of the said Panel 1. Honorable Amobi posits that he has credible information of the panel members having been compromised by Onyejeocha (the Petitioner) to deliver judgment in favour of Nkeiruka Onyejeocha. READ FULL

It is important to state that the Court of Appeal in Kano has suspended the judgment of a Federal High Court that invalidated the primaries that produced Alex Otti and other Labour Party (LP) candidates in Abia State.

The decision was made on Saturday by Justice Mbaba, who also granted Alex Otti's application to appeal as an interested party.

The Court of Appeal's order comes in response to the motion for leave filed by the Abia Governor-Elect, seeking permission to appeal as an interested party against the judgment delivered by the Kano Division of the Federal High Court on May 18, 2023, in Suit No. FHC/KN/CS/107/2023.

Additionally, the Appellate Court has granted an order for stay and suspension of the judgment issued by Justice Yunusa J. of the lower court.
