Chief Ogah revealed that God has given Senator Orji Uzor Kalu another opportunity to fight for the course of ndi igbo through the experience he has gathered during his short time in incarceration.

"Senator Orji is a great man, an iroko who has proved beyond reasonable doubt that he loves his people and his people also love him. I believe God has given Senator Orji another great opportunity to fight for ndi igbo, protect the interest of the people of the south east and Nigerians as a whole"

"The supreme court has proven again to be the last hope of the common man and i am deeply grateful to them. Almost everyone last hope, before they sprang a surprise and brought smile on the faces of Abians, Igbos and Nigerians" he concluded.

The apex court, in a unanimous verdict today on the appeal delivered by Justice Ejembi Eko, declared that the conviction of the Orji Uzor Kalu was null and void.

Justice Ejembi Eko, who delivered the lead judgment also declared as unconstitutional the provision of section 396(7) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, on which the then President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa (retd), relied on to authorise Justice Idris to return to the Court of Appeal to conclude the trial.

Justice Eko explained that the declaration was on the ground that Justice Mohammed Idris was already a Justice of the Court of Appeal, as at the time he delivered the judgment sentencing the appellants.

He held that a Justice of the Court of Appeal cannot operate as a judge of the Federal High Court.
