Tension continues to escalate in Rivers State as another set of women took to the streets today Wednesday, April 16, 2025, to protest against the emergency rule and declare unwavering support for the suspended state governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

The protesters, mostly dressed in red, gathered in their hundreds with placards bearing inscriptions like "No to Emergency Rule in Rivers," "Fubara is Our Mandate," and "We Want Peace, Not Crisis." They marched through key streets in Port Harcourt, chanting songs of solidarity and demanding an end to what they described as political intimidation and external manipulation of Rivers politics.

This latest protest comes barely 24 hours after a pro-emergency rule group of women also held a demonstration, urging the Federal Government to continue the emergency governance in Rivers State, citing growing political instability.
