Senator Monday Okpebholo of the APC has been declared winner of the Edo State Governorship election by INEC. Okpebholo won in 11 LGAs, defeating PDP's Asue Ighodalo and LP's Olumide Akpata with 291,667 votes.

Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the Edo State Governorship election, held on Saturday, marking a significant win for the APC. The results were officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology.
A Dominating Lead Across 11 LGAs

Senator Okpebholo secured an impressive lead by winning in 11 out of 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state. He garnered a total of 291,667 votes, defeating his closest rivals Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 247,274 votes, and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP), who managed 18,737 votes.

This victory sees the APC candidate taking over the reins from outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki at the Osadebe House, ensuring a continuity of the APC's political dominance in the state.
