Arik Airline Staff Arrested Over Alleged Extortion Of Passengers

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) have arrested a staff of Arik airline for allegedly extorting passengers at the general aviation terminal in Lagos State.

Videos had trended alleging that some staff of Nigerian airlines extort passengers at the terminal.

ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER had reported that the FAAN Managing Director, Captain Rabiu Yaduda after an emergency meeting on Monday, revealed that anyone found in connection with the alleged extortion will be sacked and barred from working in any airport terminal be it government or private owned. According to the General Manager, Corporate Affairs of FAAN, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, the on-duty card of the erring staff has been withdrawn and she has been handed over to the relevant security agency for appropriate action in order to serve as deterrent to others.

"Officials were also directed to always wear conspicuous name tags anytime they are on duty.

"Airport managers have been directed to ensure that all stakeholders at the airports are properly sensitized on the new development as there will be no sacred cows" she told newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos.
