Abia: Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency rejoices as work commences at the Mmuri Bridge

Report has it that Today, Friday February 19, 2021, work has commenced, to deliver a brand new concrete bridge over the Iyi Uduma -Mmuri bridge, Ohafia as the Contractor, Messers Hartland Construction Company limited that had earlier taken over the site in January, 2021 has been mobilized back to the site.

Recall that this project is keeping in line with the earlier statement issued by the facilitator of the project, who also is the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, on November 25, 2020, which noted that the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing had awarded the construction of the brand new bridge to Hartland/Setraco Construction Nigeria.

Furthermore, this project is the fulfillment of the integral responsibility of the federal lawmaker of consistently bringing to lime light the plight of his constituents to the attention of the Federal Executive Council in ensuring that the dilapidated Mmuri bridge including the Omenuko bridge received the adequate attention it deserves in line with best global standards to alleviate the suffering and plights of the Road users.

In a statement made available to AFNEWS, Rt. Hon. Nkole wishes to use the opportunity to thank all the road users who plies on the Ohafia-Ozu Abam-Bende-Umuahia for their patience during these periods of awaiting for completion of all due process and work commencement while soliciting for their maximum cooperation to enable the contractor deliver a quality job in time.

The Lawmaker further expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Federal Executive Council, President Muhammadu Buhari, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, and the Minister for Works and Housing, His Excellency, Babatunde Fashola for meeting up with the concerns, yearnings and aspirations of genuine stakeholders to the realization of a sustainable solution through the delivery of a standard bridge on this Federal Corridor.
