Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta gives William Saliba, Declan Rice injury updates after 'most valuable' win against Crystal Palace
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta called his team's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace the "most valuable" of the season, though new injury worries arose for William Saliba and Declan Rice. Eberechi Eze's first-half strike against his former club earned Arsenal a seventh consecutive win in all competitions, extending their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points.
Mikel Arteta described his Arsenal's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace as their "most valuable" of the season so far - but the Spaniard also revealed fresh injury concerns over William Saliba and Declan Rice.
Eberechi Eze's first-half strike against his former club guided Arsenal to a seventh consecutive win in all competitions, moving The Gunners four points clear at the top of the Premier League.
The result may have come at a cost, however, with Saliba replaced by Cristhian Mosquera at half-time and Rice hobbling off in the final 10 minutes.

Arteta admitted he was not entirely sure of the severity of the injuries. With Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Jesus all currently sidelined, Arsenal will be hoping the latest setbacks are not serious.
Arteta told Sky Sports: "William Saliba felt some pain. Declan [Rice] was the same. Willy [Saliba] was out from a knock that he took. With Declan, I don't really know because it was a knock, whether it was a calf or an Achilles.
"I value this victory more than any other this season. Coming from playing every three days, you play against one of the teams I think is one of the best. When you lose that concentration, they can punish you.

"I'm really happy because we knew the difficulty of the match. It was a crucial win against a good side. Today, we were clinical and defensively excellent. No one really generates big chances against them with the way they set up.
"They [players] earned it. The way they compete and play, the way they want to win, it's amazing. The five [substitutes] that came on today made a big difference again. You see the other results in the Premier League...you have to be so good to win."

Arteta also confirmed that Gabriel Martinelli "felt something," while Bukayo Saka was substituted after missing training leading up to the game due to illness.
It could be a significant weekend in the Premier League title race.
With Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City all suffering defeats, Arsenal have moved from five points behind defending champions Liverpool to seven points clear of the Merseysiders.

Arsenal required another set-piece to settle a tense affair in north London, as Rice's free-kick found Eze, who finished confidently into the far corner.
Regarding results elsewhere, Arteta remained focused on what he can control, joking: "It shows you how hard this league is. The players aren't allowed their phones, so I hope not [that they didn't know].
"We are where we are. It's a credit to us because we have been very consistent. It doesn't mean much other than we are doing a lot of things."
Trossard: We know we can score from every set-piece
Arsenal sit six points ahead of Man City after their defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday - but they had to wait until the 33rd minute for their first shot on goal, their longest wait in a Premier League game since April 2021 - per Sky Sports.

Leandro Trossard, who had that effort from a tight angle, highlighted the importance of patience on an afternoon of few clear-cut chances.
Trossard told Sky Sports: "We're really pleased with the win and another clean sheet. We need to keep going. Lately, it has been like that; we have to be patient throughout the game because we know we can score anytime. It would have been nice if we had put the game to bed.
"We are excited as well. When we get a set-piece, we know we can score. It's hard to put a finger on it [why we are doing particularly well this season], but every season we learn more and more. We just want to win, we want to win every game."
After a run of 10 matches unbeaten to start the season, Palace are now winless in their last four, with three defeats in that time.
Palace boss Oliver Glasner told Sky Sports: "It's a mixture of frustration about the result and being proud of the performance, especially in the first half. You cannot give Arsenal anything.
"It's a silly foul, and we gave them the second shot with Ebs [Eberechi Eze], and we know he has a good shot.
"We tried everything. It shows our progress when we are upset with losing 1-0 here. We are still missing a little bit. Mikel Arteta is doing such a great job. It's about us being a bit better in every single phase. When you get two or three chances, you need to score."
