In a strongly worded rebuttal signed by the General Manager of ASOPADEC, Ven. Dr. Joshua Ogadinma Onyeike, the commission described the allegations as baseless, misleading, and disconnected from verifiable realities on ground, insisting that Ukwa West has received unprecedented developmental attention under the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
ASOPADEC noted that since the inception of the Otti administration, the development narrative in oil-producing communities has changed significantly, with Ukwa West emerging as a major beneficiary of infrastructure, social welfare, and environmental remediation projects executed through the commission.
According to the official statement, the commission has delivered interventions across road infrastructure, education, electricity, health, water supply, environmental sanitation, agriculture, and empowerment, with projects visible in nearly every community in the local government.
