Blasphemy: Kano State Shari'ah Police Calls for clam

Following a protest that rocked the ancient city of Kano as a result of an alleged blasphemous song against Prophet Muhammad, the Kano state Hisbah board has called on the protesters and Muslims faithful to be law abiding about the issue because all is now under the police investigation since the occurrence of the incident.
The Hisbah Commander-general Haroun Ibn Sina told journalists that the police is already on top of the matter and it is now under investigation therefore the board is appealing to the general public to remains calm, law abiding and to desist from taking law into hands especially at this time,adding that all necessary action would also be taken to ensure peace in the state on such issues.
Ibn Sina disclosed that the parents of the singer Yahaya Sherif Aminu are in the police custody, while the authorities would get the singer to face the wrath of the law despite that his family house was set ablaze yesterday.
Meanwhile, protesters accused the government and security agencies of not taking serious action whenever such incidents occurred, while the protest convener, Idris Ibrahim (Baba Idris) called on stiffer punishment to the singer for his wrong doing.
