BREAKING: EFCC Grants Willie Obiano Bail, But..... | READ IN FULL
The former governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has been granted bail after spending 5 nights in detention.

Obiano was on Thursday, March 17, arrested at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), while trying to board an airline en-route US, after the inauguration of Chukwuma Soludo.

The ex governor who has been on the anti graft agency's watch-list since November 2021, was arrested for an alleged N42 billion fraud.

Speaking to journalists on the sideline of the 5th Annual General Assembly meeting of the Network of National Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa in Abuja on Monday, the Chairman, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa noted that the Commission has granted Obiano bail, however, they are still waiting for him to perfect his bail conditions.

Bawa did not give further details on Obiano's bail, he however maintained that his arrest was not politically motivated as speculated.

"Nothing political about the arrest of the former Anambra State Governor, Wille Obiano. He has been granted bailÔÇØ Bawa said.
