BREAKING: Gunmen Kidnap Commissioner For Information

The Niger State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mohammed Idris, was on Sunday, August 8, kidnapped by gunmen at Baban Tunga Village of Tarfa Local Government Area of the state.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Ahmed Matane, disclosed this to the NAN in a telephone interview on Monday, August 9, 2021.

According to Matane, the gunmen who were on about fifteen motorcycles, wielding various sophisticated weapon, kidnapped the Commissioner amidst a heavy down pour.

He said that the kidnappers had yet to make contact.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), in the state, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident to NAN and promised to provide more details later.
