BREAKINGNEWS: ABIA SDP SUSPENDS LGA CHAIRMEN, EXPELS IMPERSONATING ORGANIZING SECRETARY

The state working committee of the Abia state chapter of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, has suspended its chairmen on the 17 local government areas of the state for alleged anti-party activities, pending the resolution of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party. The party which also suspended a certain member of the party Mr Chuks Abenogwe for impersonation of the State's Organizing Secretary.
The resolution which was made available to newsmen through a communique containing 11 resolutions and signed by the Spokesperson of the party in the state, the Publicity Secretary, Mr Ikechi Osondu said that the party chairmen were suspended pending further resolution by the party's highest decision making body, the NEC.
The party had earlier distanced itself from the endorsement of the governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu by the LGA chairmen, saying that there was an impending resolution to be made by the party following the abysmal performance of the party chairmen in the just-concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The party in the state said that the deputy chairmen of the party in the various local governments will forthwith take up from the suspended chairmen on acting capacity following the resolution of the party's NEC.
