An eye witness who spoke to Afnews Reporter Tochukwu Eluwa stated that ÔÇØthe bridge was made for pedestrian movement many years ago. But due to the new tarred road from Bomadi to the community, light vehicles are also plying the foot concrete fly over local bridge as the only means of crossing over to the other parts of the community. A truck loaded with sand fell from the top after part of the concrete bridge broke down due to the heavy weight of the truckÔÇØ.Afnews gathered the driver and his motor boy were saved by a local rescue team, they are both safe and sound.
The community development chairman (CDC) Ogriagbene, Mr Garbon Tinaka, however appealed to the government to construct a standard flyover bridge for the community, noting that several cars have fallen into the river during flood periods as the present one is not designed for cars and trucks. But for pedestrian use, he begged the state and federal government to come to aid of the community to avert loss of life and properties as a result of the state of the bridge.
