ABIA: "Eze Chikamnayo Is A Habitual Blackmailer" - LP Chairman, Igara Refutes Claims
The Abia State Labour Party Chairman, Mr Ceekay Igara, has described Eze Chikamnayo, a former commissioner for information in the state, as a habitual blackmailer whose words should not be taken into consideration.
Igara while appearing on Arise TV on Tuesday, refuted Chikamnayo's claims that the Labour Party vilifies democracy and the judiciary, supports violence and does not follow due processes.

"Eze Chikamnayo is penchant for misinforming Nigerians. His claim that Labour Party was not in existence and that we came onboard 48 hours to the election- that alone is a miracle; if we came in 48 hours to the election and we were able to put aside the PDP and took all the slots.

"Eze Chikamnayo like we know him, has a Penchant for blackmail and Labour Party as presently constituted in Abia state, we don't have space for those who are seeking for job through blackmail; we look at meritocracy" the state chairman stated.
Igara who doubles as the chairman, council of Labour Party chairmen, insisted that Labour Party is not a newbie, but has been on ground with some members of the PDP like Rt. Hon. Stanley Ohajuruka defecting to Labour Party To contest for governorship election in 2011 and in 2019, Labour Party winning several seats during the LGAs election.

"If we were not on ground, there is no way we would have won those elections. That is to tell you the level of Chikamnayo's hypocrisy" he added.

Reacting to the appeal court's judgement on Hon. Darlington Nwokocha, Igara insisted that the party complied with the provisions of the electoral act from holding congresses to conducting primary elections to elect their candidates.

He maintained that the appeal court sitting and ruling over a pre-election matter as such, amounts to non compliance with jurisprudence.
"Our candidate (Darlington Nwokocha) was duly qualified and nominated to contest for the Abia central senatorial District election. He won that election squarely and he even won colonel Austin Akobundu (retd) of the PDP in his ward and local government.

"Chikamnayo's position was just hypocrisy in the highest order" Igara added.

Chikamnayo had last week Friday while appearing on Arise TV, claimed that Labour Party was not in existence in Abia state before the 2023 election and also accused the party of vilifying the judiciary over a judgement it gave in the matter between Darlington Nwokocha and Austin Akobundu.

"The Labour party has become a party of mob sentiments and action. In Abia state, the Labour party have decided on their own, to vilify their judiciary over a very plain issue of non compliance" Chikamnayo had said.
