Fresh cracks have emerged in the political camp of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North in the National Assembly, following the sudden resignation of his spokesperson, Dr. Maduka Okoro, from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Maduka Okoro, a longtime loyalist of the former Abia governor and one of the most visible media hands defending Kalu's political moves, shocked many by formally tendering his resignation in a letter dated September 6, 2025, addressed to the APC Ward Chairman of Ozuitem Ward, Bende Local Government Area.

In the letter, Dr. Okoro expressed gratitude for his years in the APC but made it clear that he was moving on to "explore new pathsÔÇØ that would allow him contribute to the growth of his community, state, and Nigeria at large.

"After careful consideration, I have decided it's time for me to explore new paths and contribute to the growth and development of my community, state, and country in different ways. While I will no longer be a part of APC, I remain committed to making a positive impact wherever I go,ÔÇØ his letter partly read.

The development has sent shockwaves across Abia North's political landscape, with many observers describing Maduka Okoro's exit as a dangerous signal that Orji Uzor Kalu's camp is facing disarray ahead of 2027.
