The Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia has dismissed two separate suits filed by a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State led by its Chiarman Nnanna Ukaegbu.
Chief Ukaegbu who prayed the courts in separate suits to grant his interim order declaring him the legitimate Chiarman of the party in the state, and also recognize the list of his faction which brought about the Candidacy of Chief Chikwe Udensi as the party's gubernatorial candidate in the state.
However, the court struck out his suit stating that it cannot support an interim injunction secured in 2014 being turned to a perpetual injunction now. Hence, the court granted a stay of execution of the order giving Ukaegbu impetus.
Also on the issue of the court mandating INEC to recognize the candidate of its faction as the party's candidate in the forthcoming election, the court ruled that it lacks the jurisdiction to entertain the suit.
