COVID 19: Gregory University in partnership with Israeli Embassy, Skill G Ltd donates PPE's to Fed. Govt

Gregory University Uturu in partnership with the Embassy of Israel and Skill G Ltd have donated 10,000 units of protective face masks to the federal government in support of the fight against Coronavirus or COVID 19 pandemic which is ravaging the world at the moment.

According to the press release made available to AFNEWS and signed Sleek Ogbonnaya Ogwo, the PAR, Media & Public Relations officer of Gregory University, the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Shimon Ben-Shoshan led the delegation to the federal ministry of health office in Abuja for the official presentation of the PPE's that were designed in Israel, but produced in Nigeria.

The objective of the presentation was to provide extra protection and cover for front-line health workers who are most vulnerable in the fight against COVID-19. The envoy pointed out that the donation would strengthen existing bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Israel.

In furtherance of her statutory Corporate Social Responsibility functions, which in the recent past led to the delivery of many life-enhancing palliative packages to officials of both Abia and Imo state governments, management of Gregory University Uturu has once again upped the ante of philanthropy by partnering the embassy of Israel and Skill G Ltd. in donating 10,000 units of protective face masks to the federal government.

According to Shimon Ben-Shoshan, Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, who led the delegation to the federal ministry of health office in Abuja for official presentation of the items, the protective facemasks were specially designed in Israel and produced in Nigeria, with the objective of providing extra protection and cover for frontline health workers who are most vulnerable in the fight against COVID-19. The envoy pointed out that the donation would strengthen existing bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Israel.

Receiving the items, the Minister of Health Dr. Osagie Ehanire appreciated the delegation for the gesture and promised to deploy the equipment effectively in protecting frontline health workers.

It will be recalled that Gregory University Uturu has been in the frontline of the war against COVID-19, through the donation of such palliative items as test kits, digital infra-red thermometers, ambulances, hand sanitizers, fumigation teams and foodstuff, to governments at different levels, groups and individuals.
