COVID-19: This is not the time to dispute results, NCDC boss tells Akwa Ibom govt

AFNews had earlier reported that Akwa Ibom state government have disputed the 5 positive COVID-19 cases reported yesterday by NCDC.
In reply to the position of the government, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) Director General, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu stated that the results were the true position of the test.

He also revealed that the test was done at the Irrua Teaching Hospital which is the most trusted place in Nigeria at the moment.
"Their was a delay in reporting the result to AKwa Ibom state Commissioner for Health which was due to the fact that the team was traveling back to Abuja. Their is no reason to doubt or dispute the result"

"In most cases, it takes time for states to accept the true position of things, but finally they will. As regards testing again, the test will be repeated over time, till they are confirmed negative during the treatment period". he concluded.
