COVID 19: You will be prosecuted if arrested without face mask - Abia Govt

Abia State Government has reinstated that anyone caught without face mask on the streets of Abia State will be arrested and prosecuted by Abia Mobile Courts on Covid-19 operating in various zones in the State.
This information is contained in a Press Release signed by Barr. Chris Ezem, Secretary to Abia State Government/ Chairman, Abia State Covid-19 Committee.

It has come to the notice of Government that majority of Abians and even those on essential duties move round our towns and cities without wearing their face masks, thereby violating extant laws on the use of face masks in the State.
By this announcement, Government directs Security operatives, State and Local Government Enforcement Teams to apprehend and hand over culpable persons to Abia Mobile Courts on Covid-19 operating in various zones in the State for prosecution.
