DELTA: One Dead, Others Injured In Fatal Motor Accident In Ughelli

A fatal motor accident that claimed the life of bread vendor and injuring others occurred over the weekend at Afiesere in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. An eyewitness who spoke to AFNEWS revealed that the accident was caused by the driver of a Lexus jeep.

The eyewitness who gave her name simply as Rejoice said that the car skidded off the road due to the high speed and lost control, ran into the unfortunate young bread vendor, killing her on the spot.

She said the car also rammed into another Lexus car that was parked on the other side of the road damaging it beyond repairs." In short, the two cars were damaged beyond repairs," she stressed.

According to her, the three occupants of the Lexus car sustained serious injuries while the driver's face was badly injured.She disclosed that amongst the occupants of the car was a pregnant woman who also sustained serious injuries, adding that they were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

A motorcycle (Okada) rider, who chose to remain anonymous and who also witnessed the scene of the accident described the death of the young bread vendor as pathetic and unfortunate.He advised motorists to be mindful of the way they drive their cars to protect other users of the road instead of using their vehicles cause untimely death for others.

Another eyewitness who gave his name as Miller, said the lawlessness attitude that have gone unpunished had given room for the unfortunate incident."What do you expect in a country where people commit crimes and are left to go scot-free? If you carelessly kill somebody and you were jailed, next time you will be conscious of the way you drive," he added.
